Guest Lecture/Seminar:

  • A guest lecture on Research Methodology was held for all final year students on 23-04-2024. Dr. Ramana Murthy from Vijayanagar College of Commerce was the resource person. It was organized by the Commerce Dept.

Placement Activities:

  • A Campus Recruitment Training was conducted for final year and second year students on 19-04-2024. Mr. Indra Kumar, a freelance trainer, was the resource person. He has been providing CRT for our students since 2015.

 

Students Activities:

  • of Computer Science conducted a 6-Day Certificate Course in “Python Programming” for B.Com/B.Sc students from 01-04-2024 to 06-04-2024. Dr. Sumanth, Assistant Professor, CSE Dept., of VNRVJIET, was the resource person.

 

  • A certificate course on Design Thinking is being conducted for all BBA students for two days, 2nd & 3rd Dr. Aruna Kumari and Dr. K. B. Archana from VNRVJIET are the resource persons.

 

  • Yoga class were conducted every Saturday.

 

  • A Symposium on ‘Creative Minds. Innovative Ideas, Sustainable Solutions Shaping the Future’ was organized by ni-msme & Association of Business Women in Commerce & Industry on 21 April 2024. Two teams from college, one from BBA III year and one from B.Com II year showcased their innovative projects on Solar Panelled Pathways and Obstacle Detector on Railway Tracks to Prevent Accidents, respectively. Our students’ projects were greatly appreciated by visitors.

 

  • Our B.Com II year students have won third prize in Osmania University Inter-Collegiate Competitions, ‘Osmania Taksh-2024’, held on 3rd April 2024. These competitions were conducted as part of the 107th foundation day celebrations of Osmania University. The 107th Foundation Day of OU was celebrated on 26-04-2024. Our students were invited to perform the same dance again and also to collect their prize.
  • 5 Students from BSC II year are attending the three-day,(25th -27th April), International Conference on Applied Mathematics and Advanced Data Analytics for Industry 5.0 being conducted by the Humanities and Sciences Dept. of VNRVJIET.

 

  • NSS Activities:
  • N. Shashidhar and two NSS students attended the NSS meeting which held on 22nd April 2024 by OU cell at Samskruthi Bhavan premises of Raj Bhavan, khairatabad. The meeting focused on three main points.

  • 29th General Body Meeting of VJIAS was held on 05-04-2024.
  • Floral tributes were paid to Babu Jagajivan Ram’s on his birthday.

Floral tributes were paid to Dr. B. R. Ambedkar on his birthday.

  • As part of admission promotion and service to general public NSS volunteers have set up water camp at East Marredpally bus stand with college banner from 16-04-2024.

  • 10 students of B.Com final year have completed internship from ‘Rotomaker India Pvt. Ltd’ and certificates were distributed by them and also an orientation program was conducted by them for first and second year students of B.Com and BBA on 18-04-2024.

  • Principal held a meeting with admission committee regarding upcoming new admissions on 19-04-2024.
  • The certificates were distributed to the student winners and participants for the events “Commerce – Fest” and Informatique ExhibIT-2024” conducted on 29-04-2024.

 

 

Report on Python Programming Certificate Course

 

Dept. of Computer Science conducted a 6-Day Certificate Course in “Python Programming”. The course is opened to B.Com/B.Sc of all streams up on their choice of interest. Online registration forms were sent to the students to register for the course. Nearly 185 students’ got registered.107 students were selected to attend the course classes as the time limit was given and without disturbing the class work. Theory and practical classes were taken by Resource person Mr.Ch.Sri Sumanth, Asst.Prof, CSE, VNR VJIET as a part of hands on training. The resources were sent in the form of soft copy to the students to have little more practice. Student assessment is done by conducting an exam through goggle form.

Certificates are issued to the students who wrote exam on that course and toppers will be given an opportunity to attend next level of course again by filtering/screen through the exam which will be sent by the resource person again.

Science Dept. faculty assisted the students in taking theory and practical classes and in lab.

 

Students felt very happy in taking such type of course as it is moving high in the market and even thanked the management. Some students said resource person has given the information which is very much relevant and used for doing the mini projects.

Report on Design Thinking

This report presents the findings of a 2 days session conducted by resource persons Dr. Aruna Kumari and Dr. Archana from VJIET  at our college on 2nd and 3rd April2024 for BBA students. It explored  the concepts of Creative and Design thinking. The session aimed to investigate the effectiveness and application of different methodologies in fostering innovation and problem-solving.

Day 1

The session was started at 1.30 PM, Dr. Aruna Kumari gave an introduction talk about creative and design thinking supported with “7 Habits” refers to Stephen Covey’s influential book “The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People,” which outlines principles for personal and professional effectiveness.

This session provided an overview of creative thinking, its characteristics, and its significance in problem-solving and innovation. It explored divergent and convergent thinking processes and highlights examples and case studies of creative thinking in various domains.

The session ended with the task given to the students to draw any problem with certain possibilities of solutions.

Day 2

Design thinking principles and methodologies are elucidated in session, emphasizing empathy, ideation, prototyping, brainstorming, mind mapping and testing. The design thinking process is delineated, along with its applications in real-world scenarios.

Participants demonstrated a clear understanding of how creative and design thinking can be applied in their respective fields through exercises.

The students were appreciated and presented with small gifts by the resource persons for best execution of problem and solution.
