Guest Lecture/Seminar:
- An online guest lecture on “Capital Market Awareness”, was organized by Dept. Of Commerce for B.com II year students. Speaker was Mr. Rahul Dhawan from Bombay Stock Exchange on 29-08-2023.
- A guest lecture was organised by the Mangement Dept. on the topic, ‘Goal Setting & Personal Branding’. The resource person was, Dr. Arijit Santikary, Associate Professor, Marketing, Program Chair, PGDM at Siva Sivani Institute of Management, Hyderabad on 30-08-2023.
Placement Activities:
- Placement Cell organized a talk on ‘How to Get Job Ready Effectively’ i.e. on 19-08-2023.The resource person was Ms. Meenakshi Dhondi, director Sharada Career Hub. She is a certified career counsellor and corporate trainer.
Students Activities:
- In Saturday Seminar on 05-08-2023, 7 students participated and made presentations on topics of their own choice like, Marketing, Mind your Mind, Cyber Attacks etc. All the students were shown the videos recorded by our alumni, where they expressed their feelings towards our college.
- Yoga session was conducted on 05-08-2023.
- Independence Day was celebrated in college on 15-08-2023. As is the custom at VJIAS, the flag was hoisted by the girl toppers of all streams. Patriotic songs were sung by students and faculty. Few students gave speeches to mark the occasion. The Director, Principal and Vice-Principal addressed the students and spoke about the importance of Independence Day and how students should help develop the country. The management provided breakfast to all present.
- Bhoomika Theatre Art group conducted a workshop on team building, overcoming stage fear and communication skills, through fun based activities, for a batch of 30 final year students of all the three streams. The programme was for 3 hours i.e., 12.30 to 3.30 PM. on 16-08-2023.
- As per UGC and Osmania University Guidelines, 12th to 18th August is observed as Anti-Ragging week. All the institutions were directed to conduct some competitions in this regard in their respective college. Accordingly, a Pledge was taken by each and every student of all classes at 11.50 AM in the presence of faculty. Essay writing, Slogan writing and Drawing Competitions on “Anti Ragging and its Laws” were conducted on 17-08-2023.
- Yoga practice session was conducted on Saturday, 19-08-2023.
- Seminar committee conducted Saturday seminar on 26-08-2023. Total 24 students participated from all the streams to talk on various topics like Black Money, Artifical Intillegence, Power of Media, Successful mission of Chandrayan-3 etc.
NSS Activities:
- NSS Unit of VJIAS organized a lecture on ‘Higher Education-Issues & Concerns’ in college on 14-08-2023. The speaker was retired IAS officer, Dr. K. Lakshminarayana garu. The lecture was well received by the students and faculty. It was attended by Sri. K.L.N. Reddy, Director of Hetero Drugs. Both the guests were felicitated by the Director and Principal.
- In view of National Sports Day (birthday of Hockey legend Major Dhyan Chand) on 29-08-2023, NSS committee conducted Fit India Sports competitions on 28-08-203 & 29-08-2023.
- Floral tributes were paid to Prof. Jaya Shankar on 07-08-2023 to commemorate his birthday which was on 06-08-2023. Dr. Aruna, Principal, spoke a few words about him and his struggle for a separate Telangana.
- Ms. G. Lakshmi Narasamamba, Lecturer in Commerce completed PhD viva and is awarded PhD. on 17-08-2023.
